Hello, my name is Brian McPhail, and I'm running for Supervisor, Lamar County, District 4. I've been fortunate enough to call Lamar County home for the last 40 years, and would like to offer myself to serve the people of District 4 as their representative on the Board of Supervisors. Let me outline my thoughts about the issues I feel are of the most importance for us, the residents of Lamar County.
Education: The viability of our county and country as a whole rests solely on how well we educate our children. I would always be a champion of education, and work diligently to be sure that our children have everything they need to be successful.
Safety: We have to be sure to provide our sheriffs department, fire departments, and first responders with all the tools necessary to maintain the type of environment we all desire for our families.
Government and Taxes: We need to continue to attempt to streamline our county government, and keep our taxes as low as possible. We pay enough taxes now, and we should concentrate on spending the tax dollars we already generate effectively and efficiently.
In closing, I am not going to try and reinvent the wheel. I feel that our county government is on the right path. Lamar county has done a great job. We have been able to maintain our county, and fund the important things without raising taxes. At the same time we have managed to pay down our debt. Truthfully, if our federal government ran our business in Washington the same way we have run things in Lamar Couty, our entire country would be much better off. Please consider me as your choice to become Supervisor, District 4, Lamar County, as I am humbly asking for your vote and support.
